Yahoo site explorer was the best online tool to check the amount of backlinks a certain website had because it loaded instantly and you were able to check how many links points to internal pages with one single click. On Friday November 18, 2011 Yahoo posted the following, brief statement: “With the completion of algorithmic transition to Bing, Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo! Site Explorer services will not be available from November 21, 2011.”
A lot of low-cost tools stopped listing results at all, so Yahoo Site Explorer is no longer helping us this time. So what can be the alternatives of Yahoo Site explorer? Many people were curious to get the sweet answer of this question, maybe some of you know of the Yahoo Site Explorer alternatives that you are using for checking backlinks of your websites. I guess there’re some people who know the Yahoo Site Explorer alternatives.
Many SEO and webmasters are sad to see this tool go as they actively use the competitive link data provided by Yahoo Site Explorer. Well, now the transition to Bing is complete and with it comes the final day of the Yahoo Site Explorer. This means that the SEOs will now not be able to find who links to competitor sites. With the Site Explorer, one could find who linked to the competitor site and link domain found links to anywhere on a specified web site. But since the Site Explorer has been put to rest, the source of information is also lost.
We knew it was coming, but today will be an historical day.
